This privacy statement outlines how Business for a People’s Vote, a sub-group of InFacts.org, uses your personal data and/or any data you share with us.

Who we are

InFacts.org is the trading name for Referendum Facts Limited, a company limited by guarantee, with registration number 09893905. InFacts.org is a not-for-profit organisation that qualifies for an exemption from registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office. InFacts.org will:

  • only process information necessary to establish or maintain membership or support
  • only process information necessary to provide or administer activities for people who are members of the organisation or have regular contact with it;
  • only hold information about individuals whose data it needs to process for this exempt purpose
  • restrict the personal data it processes to personal information that is necessary for this exempt purpose

What we do

Business for a People’s Vote is a group of business people making the business and economic case for a People’s Vote. Our mission is to engage the business community in the People’s Vote movement to convince the public, business and MPs that a People’s Vote is essential to avoid a bad deal or no deal Brexit.

How we will use your personal data

  • Supporters may provide us with their full name and email address, should they wish to subscribe to newsletters. This data will only be used in connection with our newsletters to highlight key campaigns and content and to inform on the campaign
  • Supporters who choose to sign our petitions consent to sharing their full name, email address and postcode with us. Signatories’ data will only be used in connection with the petition.
  • Supporters who are kind enough to donate consent to sharing their full name, credit or debit card details, email and postal address. The credit or debit card data is also shared with the processor.
  • From time to time, we may promote other organisations’ campaigns and activities. Any information you pass on to such organisations will not be collected by us and will be governed by their own privacy policies.

Keeping data secure

We treat our supporters’ data very seriously and have a number of safeguards in place within our IT infrastructure to ensure that the data is secure. This data may be stored with fully GDPR compliant third parties, using secure servers. Your data will not be used by third parties for any other reason.

If you have previously chosen to share information with us you can change your mind at any time by writing to business4pv@infacts.org. Any data that is deleted will be deleted securely and permanently.

Cookies policy

We use cookies to improve the experience of our website users. They make navigation easier and increase the user-friendliness of a website. In no way are they used to do individual tracking.

Cookies are small files that are stored on your device. They can be used to determine whether there has been any contact between us and your end device in the past. Only the cookie on your end device is identified.
